He also appears in the Bible, but the biblical stories of Lot are not entirely accepted within Islam. He was bestowed as a prophet to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. His story is used to demonstrate Islam's disapproval of rape and homosexuality. He was commanded by God to go to the land of Sodom and Gomorrah to preach to his people on monotheism and to stop them from their lustful and violent acts. Even today we have tribal people and poor people in AFrica, India, Papua New Guinea, Latin America, and all across the globe who don't even know that Islam exists, and we have people like in the USA who get probably a bad image about Islam and therefore ignore it, what will happen to all those people, would it be rightous and just to put them all in Hell for not being Muslims while they didn't really know what ISlam was ??
